Apps · Your Data Deletion

Deleting Your Data.

The public 1.0 release has no account. Here is exactly what exists, where it lives, and how to remove local data or an internal staging account.

The short version

The public App Store 1.0 release of Social Steward does not create an account, ask you to sign in, or send workspace data to our server. Everything you enter is stored on your own iPhone. That means there is no public-release account for us to delete and no server-side copy of your workspace.

You delete your data yourself, from inside the app, and it is gone immediately and permanently. No request form, no waiting period, no emailing us to ask.

Why the public release has no account

The app was built to work without one. Accounts exist to sync data between devices and to let a company hold your information on its servers. Social Steward does neither, so an account would be a login screen protecting nothing. Apple’s account deletion requirement, App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v), applies to apps that support account creation. This one does not.

You can confirm this inside the app: Settings → Data → Privacy Center has an Account section that says the same thing.

Export first, if you want a copy

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We have no backup, because we never had your data. If you want to keep anything, export it before you delete.

  • Open Settings → Data → Privacy Center.
  • Under Export, choose Export full workspace (JSON) for everything, or one of the CSV options for content, metrics, contacts, or outcomes.
  • Send the file wherever you want it through the share sheet: Mail, Files, a cloud drive, anywhere.

Delete selected records

To remove specific things and keep the rest:

  • Open Settings → Data → Privacy Center.
  • Tap Delete selected records.
  • Choose the record types you want removed and confirm.

Individual items can also be deleted from their own screens. A community contact deleted from that contact’s page takes their interactions, promises, and follow-ups with them.

Delete an entire workspace

This removes the whole thing: strategy and its version history, content items, campaigns, metric snapshots, business outcomes, community contacts and interactions, recommendations, reviews, experiments, and import records.

  • Open Settings → Data → Privacy Center.
  • Tap Delete this workspace.
  • Confirm. Any reminders tied to those records are cancelled at the same time.

Delete everything, including the app

Deleting Social Steward from your iPhone removes its entire container: the database, your preferences, and every record inside it. Touch and hold the app icon, choose to remove the app, then choose to delete it. Nothing of yours survives on the device.

Deleting the app does not refund or revoke Pro. Pro is a one-time purchase associated with your Apple Account. It does not renew, so there is no subscription to cancel.

For a refund request, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles refund decisions; we cannot issue or accelerate one.

What we hold about public-release users

Nothing from the app. There is no user record, email address, identifier, usage history, or copy of your workspace on any system we control. If you write to support we will have your email in that thread, and you can ask us to delete the thread at any time.

Apple holds your purchase record if you bought Pro. That is Apple’s data under Apple’s policies, and it is what makes Restore Purchases work. We only ever see aggregated sales figures that do not identify you.

What survives deletion

Only things you made yourself and put somewhere else: exported JSON or CSV files you saved or sent, screenshots you took, and any iPhone or iCloud backup of your device taken while the app still held data. Those are yours to manage. Deleting data in the app does not reach into a backup you already made. If you want a backup cleaned up too, that is done through your device or iCloud backup settings.

Internal staging accounts

Authorised testers using the separate internal Staging build can permanently delete their server-side account from Settings → Account → Delete account. That removes the user, workspaces, connections, encrypted credentials, Instagram profile and media metadata, insight snapshots, sync cursors, and derived reports. A pseudonymous security audit event may remain without an identifier linking it back to the deleted user.

Disconnecting Instagram is different from deleting the account: it immediately deletes the access token and stops future sync, but retains previously imported history for the tester. Delete the Social Steward account to remove that history. If account mode is ever added to a public App Store release, this section and the App Store privacy label will be reverified before it ships.

Need a hand

If any of the above does not work, or you are looking at a screen that does not match these steps, write to appsupport@uncommonicon.com and tell us your app version, from Settings → About → Version. We will walk you through it.
