The Aftermath
Ten PM to five AM in a secret warehouse on the edge of Austin. Seven artists, one bill, and a room that did not want the sun to come up. Babestock, documented.
You found the address the way you find anything worth finding: someone who loves you sent it. There was no poster on a pole, no venue tag, no map pin until the day of. Just a time, a promise, and a warehouse that looked like nothing at all from the outside.
Inside, it was somewhere else entirely. A geodesic sculpture breathing color at one end of the floor. Ionic columns standing around like they’d wandered out of a museum and decided to stay for the music. Fans, fox tails, harnesses, pearls. By eleven the room had a pulse.

The bill read like a promise: HIP STIR b2b FIREWHEEL, AK-4YA, DJ LÓA, AMANDA KOONTZ, BAMBI, KUNTRESS. Seven selectors, ten to five, and the kind of pacing you only get when the people behind the decks are also the people on the floor between sets.

Nobody dressed for anyone else, which was the point. Mesh and camo, sequins and socks, a fox tail on the floor at two AM. The dress code was courage, and everyone passed. Strangers opened circles for each other. The circles closed as friendships.

And the room itself kept giving. A desert lounge under cut-out cacti. A cloud bank with a rocking horse, waiting for whoever needed a portrait. Salvaged airplane seats with a cup holder that still worked. Every corner was an invitation to stay a little longer. We documented how that world was put together in this issue’s Process story.

“I have spent a lot of time at raves in the past few years and those were some very unique sounds that were a blast to dance to. The art installations were gorgeous too… a very fun and engaged crowd. One of the best experiences I’ve had in years.”
M., longtime raver
“So much fun!!!! Stayed until about 3:30 and then had to crash ded… I can’t do anything about the bigger world at large, but as long as I can show up for my own community, I can have hope in humanity.”
D., made it to 3:30
Rooms is what we do: we produce the nights, build the worlds, and print what we saw. Yours could be next.
